It's worth to watch each and every city at least twice, once in the daylight and once in the night.
After dark every town has a different atmosphere. Just hanging around lighted squared and dark sidewalks, one can feel a mystery. Night gives us the way to reach hidden and apparent beauty being invisible in the daytime. It motivated the staff of the Institute of Geography and Environmental Sciences to invite the citizens of Eger for a tour they would never try of themselves. The idea of Night City Adventure Tour was born in this way.
The way of the "tour" was not a hard nut to crack as ran in a town landscape with a 2 kilometres distance and a moderate height chances. The main objectives were hidden in the different stations where competing groups were stopped to solve playful challenges and to learn geography. Our science can give people manifold information. In one stage jigsaw puzzles had to be played, in another from strange photos different cities had to be identified, but sense of time and distance was measured as well. At the remotest stop minerals and fossils were the main actors while at the terminal point darts could be played on a map of Hungary.
As morale was fantastic, both participants and organizers felt superbly we decided to follow up the tour in the future as a new tradition coming from Researchers' Night. We'll wait for researchers of the night!
